A few new developments have come out of the RPM: Real Pro Mod camp.
- First, Jim Whiteley now has a brand new 1969 Yenko Camaro from Jerry Bickle Race Cars.
- Shannon Jenkins is coming back. He was in Orlando with the car he debuted in Vegas with Mike Castellana driving it.
- Mike Castellana is driving the blown Al-Anabi Performance car campaigned by Frank Manzo, who has 200 wins total.
- Michael Biehle’s sister, Dr Allie Biehle, might be racing with Pro Mod this year.
- As many of you have heard, Larry Morgan is coming over to Pro Mod this year. We can’t wait to see how he does!
- We have had multiple drivers go over 250 mph already this year, including Steve Matusek, Danny Rowe, Eric Latino, and Pete Farber.
- Billy Glidden was in a crash in Orlando. He had just gotten a new paint scheme that harkened back to his dad’s famous paint scheme from the 70’s. After the crash, Glidden’s dad, Bob Glidden, drove overnight from Indy to be with him in Orlando. Rumor has it that Glidden has a new nitrous car currently getting updated at Jerry Hass’s place.
Last, but not least, the Aeromotive Winter Warm-Up at Orlando Speed World Dragway was a success for the teams. We had sixteen teams show up for the Aeromotive Winter Warm-Up at Orlando Speed World Dragway test session during the week, and fourteen were able to compete in the race. Mike Janis took the top qualifying spot with a 5.826 at 245.85. The bump spot was a 6.441 at 231.52, held by Eric Latino. Janis won the race, beating out Eric Latino for the bye run second round before going up against Kenny Lang and Danny Rowe on his way to the Winner’s Circle.
