Drag racing fans attending the 2014 NHRA national event in St. Louis, September 26-28, will have a chance to take home an extra souvenir from the race, a commemorative Don Walsh Jr. / Precision Turbo & Engine Pro Mod bobblehead. Precision Turbo & Engine, the leading automotive aftermarket turbo manufacturer, is presenting sponsor of the NHRA Pro Mod Series race that weekend, and features Walsh as the driver of its Chevrolet powered entry.
“The bobblehead idea is an interactive promotion that you see at so many other sporting events, and we thought it would be a great addition to all of our activities at the race in St. Louis,” stated Harry Hruska, President of Precision Turbo & Engine. “Our Facebook page recently passed 370,000 Likes due to so many followers of our racing team and products. The bobblehead is just one small way we can say thanks to the fans”.
The first Walsh bobble heads will be given out at the St. Louis NHRA Fanfest on Thursday, September 25th at the new Ball Park Village off Clark Street. This event is free to the public, and starts at 6:00 p.m. with a driver autograph session that includes Walsh giving out bobbleheads while supplies last, and signing autographs from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Precision Engine & Turbo bobbleheads will also be distributed to fans as they exit Gateway Motorsports Park at the end of nitro qualifying each day (following Top Fuel Q2 Friday, and Nitro Funny Car Q4 Saturday) while supplies last. Fans are encouraged to bring bobbleheads back to the track to be autographed by Donny and Harry at the Precision Turbo & Engine midway display on Nitro Alley from 11:45am – 12:15pm on Saturday, and at the race team pit area throughout the entire weekend.
There are two qualifying sessions for the NHRA Pro Mod Series presented by Precision Turbo & Engine on Friday, September 26th at 2:15 and 4:45pm, followed by a third qualifying session on Saturday at 12:45pm. Round #1 of eliminations for the Pro Mod class begins on Saturday, at 3:15pm, with the remaining quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds contested on Sunday along with other NHRA Professional and Sportsman classes.
