Baldwinville, MA – PETE FARBER RACING concluded the 2015 NHRA Pro Mod season with a runner-up finish at the 15th annual NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 29-November 1, 2015.
Peter Farber’s weekend started off strong when he ran a 5.946 at 244.47 mph pass with his supercharged CRC Automotive Brākleen ’69 Dodge Daytona during the first round of qualifying on Friday afternoon. He had a little wiggle right at the launch on the run, but drove through it and ranked sixth in the preliminary standings. For round two, Farber went straight down the groove to put down a quicker and faster blast of 5.890 at 245.54 mph which moved him up into fifth. On Saturday’s third and final qualifying run, Farber’s Daytona performed well and he clocked a 5.926 at 245.72 mph run to finish eighth overall once the qualifying order was finalized.
Eliminations began on Saturday, and Farber was paired with Eric Latino, the number nine qualifier driver, in the first round. Latino initially had the starting line advantage, but Farber chased him down right at the finish line and took the win with a margin of victory of just 0.0092-seconds (approximately three feet). Round two of eliminations took place on Sunday afternoon, and this time it was Farber’s turn to face off against the number one qualifier, Don Walsh Jr. Both drivers went red at the start, but Walsh fouled first and Farber was granted the win. He still pushed hard, and ran a 5.891 at 245.67 mph number which showed how consistently his CRC Daytona was running. For round three, which served as the semi-finals, Farber went up against Troy Coughlin who had not only qualified fifth, but had also clinched the overall 2015 NHRA Pro Mod season championship title earlier that day. Farber didn’t let the pressure get to him while staging his car. The lights dropped, Coughlin got the hole shot lead, and Farber kept going steadily. Coughlin eventually moved towards the center line and took out the eighth-mile timing cones which disqualified him, but Farber still ran an incredibly competitive run of 5.967 at 242.98 mph. Farber advanced to the finals where he was up against Khalid alBalooshi, the number three qualified driver, for the first time. Once the race began, Farber got the lead and held the lead, but alBalooshi was able to inch past him and get the win with Farber finishing in the runner-up spot.

He will return for next year’s season, and has already started testing and prep for 2016.
Farber finished tenth in championship points for the year in the quickest and fastest Pro Mod field in NHRA history. He will return for the 2016 season with his supercharged CRC Automotive Brākleen ’69 Dodge Daytona.
