GLENDORA, Calif. – NHRA today announced that J&A Service, a leader in oil and gas well-servicing exploration, has signed an agreement to become the series sponsor for the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series. In 2015, the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series will compete at 10 NHRA national events.
As part of its series sponsorship, J&A Service will provide a $200,000 purse that pays the national champion $50,000 and the series runner-up $20,000. Each individual event winner will earn $10,000 and the event runners-up will claim $3,000 each.
“We feel this is a tremendous opportunity to align our company with an NHRA drag racing series that has delivered excitement to the fans and shown positive growth each season,” said Jim and Annie Whiteley, owners of J&A Service. “We look forward to working with NHRA to continue to expand the Pro Mod Series and foster overall growth for the sport of NHRA drag racing.”
The series opens March 12-15 with the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway in Florida. The series will once again race on Father’s Day weekend at Bristol Dragway, during the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals (June 19-21), and also again on Independence Day weekend (July 2-5), at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. The series will conclude at the NHRA Toyota Nationals in Las Vegas on Halloween weekend. A complete series schedule is below.
“The NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series has evolved into a very competitive arena for a diverse mix of high-horsepower machines and has become a fan-favorite across the NHRA circuit,” said Gary Darcy, NHRA senior vice president of sales and marketing. “Through J&A Service’s commitment with the series entitlement we can continue to build upon the momentum that the Pro Mod Series has been gaining since it was launched in 2010.”
The NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series is supported by the Real Pro Mod (RPM) Association, a group of NHRA Pro Mod Series team owners who works closely with NHRA on many initiatives to maintain the series.
“It was important for us to find a sponsor that has a great passion for NHRA Pro Mod Racing and we have done that with J&A Service,” said Danny Rowe, Real Pro Mod Association board member. “With this important piece of the puzzle in place we can now get on with the business of delivering an exciting product on the track for the great fans of NHRA drag racing.”
Featuring the world’s fastest and most unique doorslammer race cars, highlighted by ’68 Camaros, ’67 Mustangs and ’68 Firebirds, as well as a variety of late-model cars, the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series offers something for every kind of hot-rodding enthusiast.
In addition to J&A Service’s series sponsorship, other companies who support the series as event presenting sponsors are Precision Turbo, JEGS, Aeromotive and Mid-Atlantic Energy.
Series sponsor J&A Service is also a primary sponsor for the YNOT Racing team, which includes competition in the Pro Mod, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Top Dragster and Top Sportsman classes, featuring drivers Jim Whiteley, Annie Whiteley, Steven Whiteley, Anita Strasburg and John Baker.
J&A Service, owned by veteran racers Jim and Annie Whiteley, is located in Grand Junction, Colo. The company, a national oil and gas well-servicing business, leases and operates all forms of well-completion equipment and is the innovator of its patented Green Completions Unit, a self-contained, high-capacity mobile flowback separator that contains 99 percent of all airborne contaminates. Mobile units are available for sale or lease.
