Elma, NY – When defending 2014 Houston event champion Mike Janis and team roll through the gates of Houston Raceway Park for the NHRA O’Reilly Spring Nationals, there is no doubt the pressure will be on to defend their title. A challenge is something the team never backs down from, more so something the team looks forward to.
“To say we have been sitting around looking at walls since Gainesville would be far from the truth” said Mike Janis Jr., GM/Crew Chief at MJR. “From that Monday we got home, up until Tuesday night when we just left for Houston, it has been non-stop wide open at Jan-Cen Racing Engines/Mike Janis Superchargers. We have been very blessed to have more work & opportunities imaginable at work. Our customers are the best and they come first. We can’t thank them enough for all the support they provide to us. Our 2015 Jan-Cen Racing Engines/Mike Janis Superchargers Camaro was very competitive in Gainesville, and although we didn’t walk away with the win, we still felt we accomplished what we needed to. This J&A Services NHRA Pro Mod deal is so competitive, it has forced us to work extra hard and really stay on our toes. Our CNC machines have been running non-stop since Gainesville making new parts and pieces to do some R&D with on our engine dyno. We finished up last week and made pulls for four days straight. At the end of the day we accomplished more than we sought out for and could not be more excited to get to Houston and let the score boards do the talking if all goes to plan. We are headed to Tulsa Raceway Park to make some test hits on Thursday, and work on getting our new combination sorted out. Tulsa Raceway is a first class facility and quite honestly the best place to gain valuable information. MJR will give it our all this weekend” said an elated Janis Jr.

Pro Mod qualifying for the NHRA O’Reilly Spring Nationals starts Friday April 24th at 3:30 PM and 6:00 PM. The third and final qualifying session will take place Saturday at 2:00 with first round of eliminations starting at 5:00 PM. Final eliminations will take place Sunday starting at 1:00 PM.
