The 2016 NHRA RPM Pro Mod season is upon us, and our teams are putting the final touches on their programs before heading to Gainesville for the season opener.
Jim Whitely has Norm Grimes on his side again, saying: “I’m jumping out of my shoes now working with Norm Grimes again. Norm has proved my old car can runs some speeds, and now he is working on ET. I’m looking forward to all the races.”
Mike Knowles is more than ready for the 2016 season. All he has to say is this: “Just let Matusek know I will be at Houston to kick his a**.”
Danny Rowe, team owner and driver of the Agave Underground Corvette, has a plan of attack for 2016. “I’m very excited for this season,” Rowe says. “I have 4 goals: (1) just once make Ricky Smith go in first, (2) drive by a turbo car at 1100 feet, (3) help Steve Matusek win a NHRA RPM Pro Mod event, and (4) win the 2016 NHRA RPM World Championship.”
Steve Matusek, Rowe’s teammate and driver of the Aeromotive Camaro, is also rearing and ready to go. He says: “In 2016 we are coming with a new look and a new attitude. We are excited to get “Little Jimmy” to Gainesville and stomp the competition!”
Precision Turbo team is another team that’s looking forward to making big strides this season. “In 2016, we expect to be on the forefront of technology,” they say. “We pride ourselves on constantly innovating and growing our program so that we can continue to develop the safest, most powerful products possible. The recipe that’s developed through our racing initiatives is then trickled down into our customers and products for street and general use. With Jonathan Gray behind the wheel of our PTE-boosted Pro Mod Camaro, the Precision Turbo & Engine team plans to set the bar high when it comes to turbocharged Pro Mod performance. We hope to not only wind up in the winner’s circle on multiple occasions, but to set records and inspire fans and customers along the way.”
