Baytown, TX (April 28, 2016) – The Precision Turbo & Engine team celebrated an event win in Houston at last year’s NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Series race and took over the early season points lead in the class. This weekend’s goal is to repeat that process with some help from new sponsor PTP Turbo Blankets out of Austin, Texas.
Besides participating with the team at this weekend’s event in their home state, PTP Turbo Blankets feels right at home with the Precision Turbo & Engine Pro Mod team since the highest volume of requests for their popular Turbo Blankets come from customers that run Precision Turbo’s on their import, street performance, and racing vehicles.
“Being able to support a championship caliber Pro Mod team makes a lot of sense to begin with, but when you account for the fact that the majority of our customers use Precision Turbos on their cars we couldn’t think of a better partner to showcase our products. The Precision Turbo team will be receiving our latest products at the Houston race for their Pro Mod entry and to share with other Pro Mod teams using turbos as their power adder” stated PTP Turbo Blankets manager, Joe Dandachli.
Last season when team owner Harry Hruska held up the NHRA Wally in Winner’s Circle, it was with driver Don Walsh Jr. This season, NHRA Pro Stock standout, Jonathan Gray, took over driving duties of the Precision Turbo Pro Mod Camaro and hasn’t looked back. Record setting elapsed times and speeds in pre-season testing, combined with a strong qualifying position and semi-final finish at the season opening NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, FL, has the team currently sitting third in points and ready to move up.
Vice President of Precision Turbo & Engine, Roger Conley, agrees that the racing and business fit for both companies provides great synergy. “Precision Turbo & Engine sells high performance aftermarket turbo products throughout North America and around the world every day, and we are pleased to recommend PTP Turbo Blankets and add their logo to our Pro Mod team.”
The Precision Turbo Pro Mod team has its first qualifying pass scheduled for 4:00pm CT this Friday, April 29 at the NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston. Fans can follow the team’s progress this weekend through
