NHRA has made a change to the Pro Mod schedule for the upcoming Midwest Nationals in St. Louis on September 26-28. The change is being made in order to finish the Pro Mod portion of the NHRA Carolina Nationals. This also moves the Don Walsh Jr./Precision Turbo & Engine bobblehead giveaway distribution schedule.
The two qualifying sessions times for Pro Mod on Friday, September 26 will remain at the same times: Q1 at 2:15 p.m. and Q2 at 4:45 p.m. The second qualifying session will act as round 2 of the Carolina Nationals eliminations. On Saturday, at 12:45 p.m. the third qualifying session will also include round 3 eliminations from Carolina with the finals being run at 3:15 p.m. The first round of eliminations for the NHRA Midwest Nationals will now take place after the Nitro session, at 5:15 p.m.
On Friday, the Don Walsh Jr./Precision Turbo & Engine bobbleheads will be distributed to fans as they exit Gateway Motorsports Park after the final Nitro pair of cars go down the track, and after the final pair of Pro Mods on Saturday night while supplies last. Fans are encouraged to bring bobbleheads back to the track to be autographed by Walsh and team owner, Harry Hruska, at the Precision Turbo & Engine midway display on Nitro Alley from 11:45am – 12:15pm on Saturday, and at the race team pit area throughout the entire weekend.
The Walsh bobbleheads will also be given out at the NHRA Fanfest on Thursday, September 25 at the new Ball Park Village off Clark Street. This event is free to the public, and starts at 6:00 p.m. with a driver autograph session that includes Walsh giving out bobbleheads while supplies last, and signing autographs from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
