The Real Pro Mod Association will return to NHRA in 2017 with J&A Service as the title sponsor for the season. In addition, there have been a couple of other changes to the season format. Two more races have been added: the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, NC, where we will see three different combinations lining up at the same time, and the NHRA Kansas Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka, the fastest track in the NHRA.
RPM: Real Pro Mod is extremely excited about the 2017 season, as are the NHRA, FOX, and various racetrack managers and owners. The Pro Mod TV show was up in viewership by 280% and Pro Mod has moved to the third most exciting class in the NHRA, right behind Funny Car and Top Fuel.
“We’re real excited about 2017,” says John Waldie. “We’re thrilled about running the 4-Wide in Charlotte and we can’t wait to see how that plays out for Pro Mod. Kansas is just as wonderful. Not only is it a home track for Aeromotive, one of our sponsors, but Jim and Annie of J&A Service are absolutely thrilled about going to Kansas. We’ve dreamt about adding more races the last couple years, but we didn’t want to over-extend ourselves while doing it. Two extra races is a good balance for us.” Waldie concluded by mentioning the test session at Orlando at the end of February, saying that this season will bring “all kinds of new cars and personalities. Orlando is a great way to make sure your program is ready before heading to Gainesville for the first race of the season.”
The Real Pro Mod Association would like to thank the following sponsors for their help in recent years: J&A Service, Aeromotive, JEGS, Precision Turbo and Engine, Proline Racing, Protect the Harvest, Lamb Components, Quick Drive, and Jerry Bickel Race Cars.
